WatchSync — Privacy Policy

No Data Collected By Us
WatchSync does not collect, track, or transmit any personal information to us. The app does not require an account with us, shows no ads, and uses no third-party analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting tools. We do not operate any servers.
Local Storage and iCloud Sync
Your library, watch progress, ratings, history and settings are stored on your device and synced between your devices through your personal Apple iCloud account. Sign-in details for services you connect (such as tokens and API keys) are stored in your device Keychain and synced through iCloud Keychain. This happens entirely between your devices and Apple’s servers; we have no access to it.
Catalog and Ratings Services
To show titles, episodes, artwork, ratings and air dates, the app sends your search text and the IDs of titles you open directly from your device to public catalog services: IMDb, Cinemeta, TVmaze, AniList, Jikan (MyAnimeList), and TMDB and MDBList if you add your own key. These requests contain no personal information, but, like any internet request, the service can see your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply.
Services You Connect
If you connect a tracking service (for example Trakt, SIMKL, AniList, TMDB, Jellyfin, FlickList, Floppy, PunchPlay, Scrob or WeTrakr), WatchSync reads and updates your lists on that service only as you configure it in Sync. This data goes directly between your device and that service, under that service’s terms and privacy policy. You can disconnect a service at any time in the app.
Notifications and Files
New-episode alerts are scheduled locally on your device; no push service of ours is involved. Video files you choose to play stay on your device and are never uploaded. Exports and connection backups are created only when you ask for them, and connection backups are encrypted with a password you choose.
Data Security
Your data is protected by Apple’s built-in device security, iCloud encryption and the Keychain. We recommend a strong device passcode and two-factor authentication for your Apple Account.
Data Deletion
We hold none of your data, so you are in full control. Remove titles or services inside the app, delete the app to erase local data, and remove synced data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → WatchSync. Data on services you connected is managed on those services.
Children
WatchSync is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
